II. Character Creation
a. Rolling a Character
b. Choosing a Race
c. Special Notes
d. Optional Rules
a. Rolling a Character
Lemuria use a simplified version of the Momo RPG system for character
creation. There are 5 primary statistics, and 2 secondary statistics.
Primary Statistics: (1d6):
Beef -- Buns, Physical fitness, Strength.
Neko -- Agility, Awareness,
Dexterity, Perception.
Guru -- Smarts, Intelligence, Wisdom, IQ.
Kawaii -- Beauty, Charisma,
Leadership, Social skills.
Momo -- All purpose statistics "X", Luck, Saving
throws.
Secondary Statistics: (1d6 + Statistic)
Ataru -- Hit Points, 1d6 + Beef + Momo.
Mokona -- Manna/Essence/Chi/PSI, roll 1d6 + Guru.
The stats contain Japanese-language jokes. Neko means
Cat in Japanese, and used for Dexterity/Agility. Momo means peach, which is also slang
for “butt”. When
you’re rolling saving throw vs. Momo, you’re rolling to save
your butt. Ataru = “to
hit” in Japanese, used for “Hit Points”.
b. Choosing a Race
There are many different Races you can play in Neo Lemuria.
Non-human races have special modifications to the character's
statistics. Note that you cannot have statistics of zero, the minimum
is 1.
Natural armor counts as 1 point defense bonus, and natural weapon attacks
do 1d6 points of damage.
Cow -- Beef
+2, Neko -1, Kawaii
-1. Natural Weapon: Horns, Natural Armor: Leather. Cows
are big, they weight 500 lb. or more, and they really dislike people who
order hamburgers. Cows are vegetarian; they can stand and walk on two
legs, but prefer to walk on all 4.
Elf -- Beef
-1, Kawaii +1. Innate Ability: Infra
vision (can see at night). Elves are a long lived race; they're
slightly smaller than humans, with pointed ears. Elves are mostly
vegetarian, preferring a salad over chicken fried steak or spam.
Half-Dragon -- Beef
+1, Guru -1. Natural Weapon: Fire breath, Ability:
flight. Half Dragons are a magical union of a human male, and a
female dragon in human form. They have small wings, a tail, small horns,
and spit a small fireball at will. All Half Dragons are female.
 Half-Slime -- No
modifications. Ability: Transformation. Half slimes
are magical unions of a human male, and a female slime in human female
form. Half slimes can transform between slime and human form at
will. All Half Slimes are female.
Human --
No modifications. Humans are the most populous race in Neo
Lemuria. With shorter life span and lack of mating season
restrictions, young humans tend to be driven by the desire chase the
opposite sex all year round.
Kingyo -- Beef -2, Momo +2.
Ability: fly. Kingyos are rare
intelligent flying goldfish specie found on Neo Lemuria. Due to
numerous wild beasts having an appetite for Kingyo's
delicious soft white meat, the remaining population of Kingyo
tends to seek sanctuary with other civilizations.
 Mappy -- Beef +1, Guru -1.
Ability: Transformation Mappy's are magical
creatures that can transform between a small squirrel and a very large
(bigger than a cow) vicious clawed bear-like beast. In the larger
body, a Mappy gets 2 attacks with claws.
Oni -- No modifications.
Ability: high resistance to electricity. The Oni looks very similar to humans, except they have
green hair and tiny horns. Oni's have high
resistance (50% damage reduction) to electric or lightning based attacks.
Puma -- Beef
-1, Neko +1. Ability: low light
vision. Natural weapon: Claws. Pumas are catlike
humanoids, they have enhanced vision to see in low light conditions, but,
not total darkness. Pumas have claws for their natural weapon.
Pumas are carnivores; they cannot survive on vegetarian diet.
Ruri -- No modifications.
Ability: Merge with trees. Ruri's
are a rare farie race, sometimes called Tree
Elves, or Dryads. They have the power to "merge" with
living trees, so that they never have to pay rent (free housing in the
park). Ruri's like to sit on trees and look
down on all the other "dumb" races running around.
 Winged
One (Angel) -- Beef -1, Guru +1. Ability: Fly. The
Winged race lives in the mountains of Anarita, and has developed the means
to fly with mechanical wings. The mechanical wings are fused to the
owner by magic, and can be detached or replaced.
c. Special Notes
Cow
Cows are the 5th most populous race on Neo Lemuria; they are
native to Lemuria (1) and Anarita (Australia) continents.
Legend has it that cows are raised as cattle for meat at one time, after
the fall of Atlantis; man was left alone in the world with his
cattle. A pious man prayed to the Gods, asking for companions so he
would not be alone. The Gods took pity upon man, and gave his cattle
intelligence and speech.
The cows have a different version of the creation story. They believe
that the cows were the first ones to be given speech by the Gods, and
humans were given speech later as companions to the cows. The humans
betrayed the cows and slaughtered them for their meats. As
punishment, the Gods struck down the human civilization of Atlantis, but,
spared the cow villages in Anarita. A few
humans who were friendly to the cows were given wings by the Gods to live
in the mountains of Anarita.
Hamburgers and Hamburger serving fast food restaurants are illegal in
Lemuria and Anarita. The Anti-Burger Cow
Union has successfully banned the introduction of beef products from other
worlds.
Elf
The Elves are the 4th most populous race in Neo Lemuria,
they're cute, young, and sexy with nice form. They have no relations
to the ugly, flat-chest, mentally unbalanced Nazi-elves from some other
RPG. Although elves can physically procreate all year round, they
have fickle mating cycles that are difficult to predict. An Elven sexuality degree program is offered at some
universities.
The union between Elves and non-Elven races
produce Half-Elves. Half Elves are treated as Humans with small
pointy ears and longer life span. The founder of New Lemuria colony
was a half-elf, who traveled by sea from the Elven
homeland in Central Americas to the Lemuria Continent (area of Indonesia to Southern China)
2,160 years ago.
With the rise in influence and trade with New Lemuria, many Elves left
their homeland in search of jobs that paid more than a basket of
fruits. The Elves are excellent navigators, and are employed by many
ocean shipping Guilds.
Humans
Humans are the most populous race in Neo Lemuria, they can be found in
many corners of the world, scattered in small tribal settlements. The
human Kingdoms in Lemurian Continent (area of Indonesia to Southern
China) are the most advanced and concentrated human settlement
on Neo Lemuria.
Reasons why the humans are more populous than all other races combined:
Human babies start with the same number of cells after initial conception,
and continues to develop into a female baby for the first 6 months.
If the cells are instructed by the little chromosomes to make a male baby,
some cells are taken from the brain area to form the male genitals during
late stages of a baby's development. Thus, a male baby is usually a
few marbles short in the brain.
This is evident from observing young human children interact with each
other. Young girls play house and learn how to read, while young boys
put buckets over their heads and run into walls. Young girls tend to
think before they act, while young boys tend to punch or kick their younger
siblings for no reason.
After puberty, when hormones kick in, a remarkable change occurs in the
human body. In the female body, the brain function remains in their
heads. In the male body, their brain functions migrate to their
genitals, resulting in an urge to fornicate with anything that looks
female.
Oni
The Oni race is the 2nd most
populous, they originally lived in the Middle East
and Eurasian plains thousands of years ago. When global temperature
started cooling, the great ice caps to the North expanded South.
Forced to abandon their once lush green valleys and rolling plains, they
migrated to the area of North Africa thousands of years ago, and then
continued South to Middle and Lower Africa.
The Oni race has just as many different skin,
hair, and eye colors as humans. A rare Oni
race with green hair is known to exist. Females of the green haired Oni race is highly valued, and the bride price to marry
such a female can be extremely high for the potentially suitor.
Rumors say the green haired female Oni's have the
power to summon lightning sparks by touch (1d6 damage), about once per
minuet.
Puma
The Puma race is the 3rd most populous race on Neo Lemuria,
they look like humans with feline features. They have short tails, cat like
ears, and retractable claws. Some younger members of the Puma race
that copulates with humans have their claws removed or dulled, much to the
dismay of their traditionalist parents.
The Puma race established their first village thousands of years ago, in
the area of North-Eastern China, near the rivers and the sea coast.
There are several major tribes of Pumas that have established long-lasting
Kingdoms; their Monarchs are considered very strange by the other races.
Visitors to the Puma homeland are advised to stay away from Sushi restaurants
and Opera Houses (2).
Notes:
(1) Lemuria is the modern
name for Lands of Archurun.
(2) Puma Opera is not for the weak of heart. Members of
other races have been known to die of heart attack from listening to Puma
Opera performances. For reasons unknown, Kingyos
are immune to the effects of Puma Opera.
d. Optional Rules
Important stuff to keep in mind:
1. Players use Player Characters (PC) in the game.
2. Players are not PC's. PC's are fictional entities; they do
NOT exist in real life.

All rules are optional to the GM.
Optional Rule: Advantages & Disadvantages:
At GM's option, PC's can have Advantages and Disadvantages. For
