a. Beginning PC's
Beginning PC's (Player Characters) may choose one option from
the following:
Option A: Six skills at Level 1.
Option B: One skill at Level 2, and three skills at Level 1.
In addition, PC's receive free language skills based on their background:
Kingdom
of Lemuria:
Guanche Language at Level 3, Isänmaa at Level 1
Other countries in Lemuria: Local dialect Level 3, Guanche
Level 1.
None-human PC's receive their own racial language skill, at level 1-3 (GM's
discretion, or roll 1d3) as bonus.

"reverse" option is available for those who wants to buy the antisocial
skill of bully.
Sports - Basketball, Golf, Jump, Pro-wrestling, Running,
Swimming, Tennis, Weight lifting.
Weapon - Specify Weapon type. Examples: Bow,
Crossbow, Spear, Sword, Two handed sword, etc. Statistics:
Melee weapons use Beef, Ranged & thrown weapons use Neko.
Wilderness - Direction sense, Fishing, Foraging, Fire building,
Hunting, Mountain climbing, Survival, Track.
d. Difference between Neo Lemuria and AD&D
The
biggest difference between Neo Lemuria and AD&D is...
1. Neo Lemuria RPG does not use the traditional "Character
Class" system. This is a skill based RPG.
2. In Neo Lemuria RPG, the experience points (XP) you earn are spent
to improve your character's skills. Once the XP is spent, it's GONE.

e. Skill Advances
Players can purchase additional Skill Levels, or new skills, by
spending XP's. XP's are earned though game play. The cost of
skill advances is paid at every level. To buy a 1st level Basic
Skill, you need to spend 10 XP. To increase a Skill from Level 1 to
Level 2, you need to spend an additional 20 XP.

As you can see, to buy a new skill (Level 1) and upgrading it to Level 6
cost 10 + 20 + 30 + 40 + 50 + 60 XP, which adds up to a whopping 210 XP!
f. Maximum number of Skills permitted
Some skills come in a package. If you buy the skill, you get a
lot for the buck. Others require you to specify one item only, like
advanced education and combat type skills. For example, if you
purchase a music skill to play instrument, you must specify one instrument
(guitar, drums, harp, piano).
For skills with prerequisites, the skill level cannot exceed the
prerequisite's skill level. For example, if your basic skullduggery
is level 3, your advanced skullduggery cannot exceed level 3.
A very important skill is Arcane Lore. Arcane lore offers bonus
points to defense rolls against magic type attacks.
Maximum number of skills: A PC can only have up to 20 skills
and spell lists. If you exceed the maximum, you can negotiate with
the GM to "forget" an old skill.
